Yangzhou University (China) YZU Students Excel in the Finals of the 12th National Mathematics Competition for College Students

On May 16, the finals of the 12th National University Mathematics Competition for College Students came to an end at Jilin University. Three undergraduates at Yangzhou University excelled themselves in this competition. Huang Yimin, class of 2017, majoring in mathematics & applied mathematics at the College of Mathematical Science, won the first prize in the senior group of mathematics major contestants and ranked 8th nationwide. Ge Wujun, class of 2018 at the same college, won the second prize and ranked 65th nationwide. Qian Cheng, class of 2017, majoring in built environment and energy power engineering at the College of Electrical, Energy & Power Engineering won the first prize in the group of non-mathematics major contestants and ranked 32nd nationwide.

The National University Mathematics Competition for College Students is one of the most influential academic competitions in China. 206,921 students from 897 colleges and universities across China participated in the preliminaries of the 12th NCAA, and 668 students were qualified for the finals.
