Yangzhou University (China) YZU Joins and Leads the BINGO Project

The international collaborative cosmology project BINGO led by the Center for Gravitation and Cosmology of YZU has produced first-cohort of scientific achievements. The BINGO international cooperation group announces that the seven core papers of the project has been published on August 3, 2022, in the world-class journal “Astronomy and Astrophysics”. These publications are a milestone for the BINGO project.

The BINGO project, a major international collaboration in radio astronomy and space science, was launched on July 6, 2021. The University of São Paulo, the University of Manchester, the University College London, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and a number of Chinese institutions are all involved. Yangzhou University, the University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, and 54th Research Institute of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation have joined forces to form a Chinese team in this major project. Experts from Yangzhou University served as members of the BINGO Chief Scientist Group and Executive Committee, composed of five international experts. The Center for Gravitation and Cosmology of Yangzhou University has become an important part of Yangzhou University’s research and innovation-driven development strategy, a leading edge in international cooperation and an important base for fundamental researches.
