University of Technology (Iraq) The Information Technology Center successfully concludes the cybersecurity course

With the increasing reliance on digital services provided by the University of Technology and the advantages of these services provide as well as the rise in digital threats, it has become one of the university’s most important priorities to adopt the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in adopting specialized programs and courses in cybersecurity to serve the university’s teaching and affiliates.

In the interest of the presidency of the university in this field and to contribute to increasing the level of awareness of teachers about digital threats and their risks and damages, whether at the level of countries, organizations and even companies, the Information Technology Center (Avicenna Division for E-Learning) successfully concluded on Monday 25-10-2022 the specialized training course and on Over the course of five days, entitled (Cyber ​​security and the prevention of digital risks) for the university’s teachers, which was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Dahd, and in cooperation with the Moon Gate Company specialized in the field of information technologies Communications and cyber security for a period of five days.

 The course was presented by experts from the Moon Gate Company, which specializes in cybersecurity, and was attended by 25 university lecturers from various departments specialized in the field of computers. A number of diverse topics on cybersecurity were highlighted, in addition to an introduction to the company’s services, which included theoretical and practical lectures, including:

 Security Big Picture, Defense System Arch, Hacking Phases, Digital Shadow, Threat Hunting Combat at the darkness.

For his part, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Haider Abed Dhahd, stressed during the course closing ceremony the importance of holding this training course, which received active participation from the teaching staff, at this particular time, which is witnessing a growing interest in cybersecurity incidents. The scientific assistant stressed that, thanks to the expertise and capabilities that the university possesses in the field of cybersecurity, it has taken upon itself the responsibility of spreading awareness and building the capabilities of teaching and university students to enable them in this field and to increase their chances of entering the labor market.

The participating teachers praised the Information Technology Center for the distinguished workshops that were covered by the training course’s topics, which give them new experiences and information that support their university specialization. At the conclusion of the training course, participation certificates were distributed to the participating faculty by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, and Moon Gate Company was awarded the University of Technology Shield in appreciation of their efforts.
