Mozambique (Universidade Pedagogica de Maputo) United Nations resident coordinator in Mocambique visits UPMaputo

The Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Mozambique, Myrta Kaulard, paid a courtesy visit to the Pedagogical University of Maputo on September 22, where she spoke about the areas of intervention of the institution she represents in Mozambique with the aim of signing a memorandum of institutional cooperation that will focus on the Faculties of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, for training students in technical areas.
Kaulard, said that the visit to UPMaputo aims to establish partnership relations because the academic world is an essential element of sustainable development. She added that this will certainly be a relevant cooperation to mitigate different socio-economic problems that affect Mozambican citizens.
He also said, in his brief visit and speech, that this meeting served as a beacon to explore different areas of knowledge that could be capitalized to understand the focus of the university and the potential that the United Nations has to help in the sustainable development of the country.
The courtesy meeting was chaired by the Rector of UPMaputo, Jorge Ferrão, Director of the Scientific Directorate Professor Carla Maciel and representative of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who were satisfied with the proposals for areas of cooperation that the United Nations intend to develop at UPMaputo.
