UK (Coventry University) World top 30 spot highlights Coventry University’s international appeal

Coventry University is continuing to cement its global reputation as it celebrates being ranked as one of the top 30 universities in the world for international students for the fourth year in a row.

The university has been recognised for its global reach in the 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings, released by global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds, moving up three places to be ranked 26th in the international students ratio metric.

These rankings measure how internationally attractive a university is to students.

Coventry University was placed 571st in the world, putting it in the top 38% in the QS World University Ranking, it’s best relative performance in the 20-year history of the rankings.

In two of the new metrics for this year, Coventry University did particularly well, placing 308th for international research network and joint 481st for sustainability.

The continued rankings success follows Coventry University Group’s recognition in one of the last awards in the name of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s most prestigious business award, was awarded to Coventry University for its work building relationships with institutions and companies throughout the world, while also drawing thousands of students from around the globe to its campuses across the UK.

These highly respected rankings assess around 1,500 universities across the globe and to be named in the top 30 in the world for international students ratio and ranked as the 56th best UK university is a major achievement.

We are also delighted to have performed in the top 38% of the institutions included in the world rankings. That is our highest percentage placing in the history of the rankings, which highlights our increasing global impact and international growth over the last 20 years.

The recognition for our international outlook is something we value as a global education group that is committed to widening access to quality education, and is testament to the continued hard work of our colleagues and students.

In 2023, around 22,000 students were studying Coventry University degrees overseas.

Earlier this year the University Group announced that The Knowledge Hub (TKH) West in Egypt will join the Group’s network of international campuses, which also includes TKH East in Egypt and Wroclaw in Poland.

Coventry University has also established a network of global hubs in Brussels, Dubai, Singapore, Rwanda and Beijing, and is planning to open a New Delhi hub later this year. The aim is to develop relationships with organisations in those regions to further education, research and enterprise activities.

Our mission is creating better futures and that is not confined to these shores or to the people of this country.

Students from 140 nations study across our group – this is what Coventry University is about. Our international outlook brings great benefits to our students, colleagues and community, enabling us to share best research practices and build and maintain important relationships with businesses and organisations, making a real-world impact on our doorstep and beyond.

Recognition like this will help us continue to ensure that more and more people have access to life-changing qualifications.
