Tishreen University (Syria) Discussion Of A PhD Thesis At The Faculty Of Economics By Student Samer Scaif Entitled: The Repercussions Of The War On Syria On Regional And International Balances
Postgraduate student at the Faculty of Economics, Samer Skeif, discussed his doctoral thesis, which he prepared, entitled The Repercussions of the War on Syria on Regional and International Balances, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Louay Sayyouh and Dr. Rami Laika.
The researcher aimed during his study to determine the impact of the war on the political, economic and social situation in Syria and on the countries supporting Syria in the war and hostile to it. The study covered the period from 2011 to 2020
The researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the war on Syria showed that the Syrian-Turkish relations turned from a strategic alliance before the war to a strategic dispute – the increase in Iranian imports to Syria since the beginning of the war on it, with the exception of 2017 , the growth of Syrian imports from the Russian Federation, especially after a year, which reflects Its position in support of Syria 2013 – There was a discrepancy in the level of growth of exports and imports between Syria and the United States of America as a direct reflection of the nature of the political relations between the two countries.
The researcher obtained a doctorate degree with distinction and a mark of 88.
