Since the beginning of April, most mandatory regulations of the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance have ceased to apply. For reasons of infection prevention and control, however, it is recommended to continue to wear a mask in all RWTH buildings and during courses, exams and events. In-Person Advising Services

Work Meetings
Work meetings should only be held in person if necessary, and only essential participants may attend. The need for staff to attend meetings in person must be questioned regularly. Attendees are advised to wear a face mask and adhere to the common hygiene regulations throughout. Individuals who are required to attend necessary official meetings are to be offered coronavirus self-tests at least once a week via their university institution. The currently applicable minimum distance between individuals must be maintained during all activities. If this is not possible, the activity may only be carried out under the application of compensation measures previously agreed with Occupational Safety. Events It is now possible again to hold in-person events. In the summer semester, courses and events will generally be held in person. Instructors are encouraged to continue the flipped classroom format that had already proven to be effective prior to the pandemic. If instructors would like to offer their courses in an exclusively remote format for justifiable reasons, they are asked to clarify this with the respective Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs or Dean’s Office. In such cases, students are to be informed via announcements on the relevant website or the virtual classroom well ahead of time. Due to the currently high infection rates, it is recommended to continue to wear a mask in all RWTH buildings and during courses, exams and events (see also: Recommendation to Wear a Mask). Where possible, fixed seats are to be spaced at a minimum distance wherever space permits (e.g. a seating plan in a pattern akin to a checkerboard). |
