University Gender Policy Workshop.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed on Wednesday, 2nd November 2022 declared open a one-day conference and sensitization workshop on the formulation of the University Gender Policy.
The workshop was organized by the Centre for Gender Studies in conjunction with Change Managers International Network.
The Keynote remark was delivered by Mrs. Felicia Onibon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Change Managers International Network and 100 Women Lobby Group.
The event featured a panel discussion on the formulation and implementation of the University Gender policy led by the Director Centre for Gender Studies, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Mainoma, and Deputy Directors of the Center Dr. Godiya Atsiya and Dr. Comfort Adokwe.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has vowed to deal with perpetrators of all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the University.
The Vice-Chancellor sounded the warning when he addressed a mammoth crowd of students who participated in an advocacy and sensitization rally which took place in the University on Thursday.
Professor Mohammed said the perpetrators of these heinous crimes no longer have a hiding place in the University, he urged students to take advantage of the whistle-blowing apparatus set in motion by the school authority to report any form of intimidation and sexual harassment by lecturers, according to him any lecturer found culpable will face the full wrath of the law.
He also advised the female students to avoid compromising situations so that lecturers will not take undue advantage of them.
The rally which is organized by the Centre for Gender Studies Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in collaboration with the Nigerian Women Trust Fund, is to create awareness and advocacy on the ills of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the University and Nigeria at large.
