Australia (La Trobe University) 2022 Regional Career Practitioners’ Conference

You are invited to attend the 2022 Regional Career Practitioners Conference at our Bendigo Campus on Thursday 17 November. Come and explore our campus, learn about our plan for the future and gain insights into our new courses and programs.

The day will include exciting updates from the Pro Vice Chancellor (Regional), and you’ll hear from an industry guest speaker on the evolving and growing career opportunities for your students. You will also learn more about the following La Trobe courses and programs:

Rural health

This session will be showcasing the Diploma of Rural Health. Previously named the Diploma of Health Sciences, this course helps students take their first steps toward a rewarding career in health.
We have designed this Diploma so students can take their skills straight into a health career. They can also explore a supported pathway to one of our health degrees, and potentially receive up to one year of course credit.

Education

La Trobe has redesigned its Bachelor of Education to give students the skills, experience and confidence to make a difference from their first day as a qualified teacher. Students will be able to take the time and find out what area of teaching they want to specialise in. They won’t have to decide what they will teach – secondary, primary, or early childhood and primary – until the end of their first year. They will deep dive into their area of specialisation and develop unique and comprehensive skills.
Now offered at every La Trobe campus in Victoria, our Bachelor of Education has an extremely flexible, blended delivery – online, in schools and in the community. Students will graduate prepared and confident from their first day in the classroom.

Visual arts

Our new Bachelor of Visual Arts is designed for students who want to pursue their artistic passion and receive the knowledge, experience, and connections to realise their dream career. Students will study core visual arts subjects and develop their practice. They’ll also get the opportunity to explore different interests and practices through open access majors, minors, and electives.
Students will gain valuable skills in a range of visual mediums and develop their art practice with access to our purpose-build studios and workshops. They’ll explore what contemporary art can tell us about the world and find their place within in it, ready to make their mark in the art world.

Aspire

Our Aspire Early Entry Program provide students with an early conditional offer into their chosen course. We now have multiple streams for students to choose from, which have unique requirements, outcomes and access to La Trobe courses.
More students will now be able to make their university dream a reality through one, or all of our Aspire streams:

  • Aspire Community Contribution
  • Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry
  • Aspire Early University Study
  • Aspire Achieve Plus

This year we will be delivering the conference as a hybrid event, allowing you to attend virtually or in person at our Bendigo Campus.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided for those attending in person, and the event will give you with the opportunity to receive a guided tour of our campus and accommodation facilities.

We look forward to being able to celebrate with you after a fantastic year and show you how we can support both you and your students for the future.
