Nigeria (Kwara State University) KWASU/Royal Media Group to Partner on Entrepreneurship Training and Sports

In an effort to position students of Kwara State University as major players in the world economy through entrepreneurship training, the Management of the University have put plans in gear to partner with the radio arm of Royal Media Group, Royal FM llorin, to train interested students in the art of media broadcast.
This was made known when the President and Founder of Royal Media Group, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo paid a courtesy visit to the
Vice Chancellor of KWASU, Prof. M.M Akanbi SAN in his office in Malete, today, Wednesday 23rd of March 2022.
Prof. Akanbi in his welcome speech noted that with the current NUC ranking placing KWASU as the fastest growing state owned
university in the country, the Institution is a haven for investors seeking reliable returns on their investments.
He noted further that KWASU will always welcome investors and privatproposed collaboration.e individuals who are willing to
support and “add value to the university” through funding projects, providing endowments and grants.
The Vice Chancellor said Engr. Adebayo, as a consummate sports man, is the ideal person to become one of the patrons and
partners of the KWASU Cycling Club.
Responding to Prof. Akanbi’s remarks, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo said his organisation was ready to work with KWASU in its bid to
produce employable graduates wth skills relevant to the 21st century job market.
The versatile Entrepreneur said the partnership will be kicked off with 10 students of KWASU who will be trained in practical Radio broadcast for six months with other batches of students to follow in due course.
Engr. Adebayo also said that his group was willing to extend training opportunities to KWASU students in other fields such as Agri
– Business, Health and Telecommunication with emphasis on call center operations.
The President of Royal Media Group, while commending the Vice Chancellor on the establishment of a Cycling Club in KWASU
stated that it was a “good idea that should be replicated by other institutions across the country”. He also pledged his full scale
support of the club activities.
A committee to fine tune the partnership between KWASU and Royal Media Group was proposed, with the Director of Centre for
Wellness and Creative Arts Therapy, Dr. Khadijah Toyin Musah to be in charge of ensuring the positive out come of the proposed collaboration.
