Kenya (Kenyatta University) Global RCE Network 12TH African Regional Meeting: Registrations and Call for Applications Open

28-30 November, 2022, Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by RCE Greater Nairobi

The 12th African RCE Regional Meeting will be held from 28-30 November, 2022 at Kenyatta University Conference Centre (KUCC) Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting will be hosted by RCE Greater Nairobi, the National Environment Management Authority Kenya (NEMA-K) and the Kenyan RCE Network, with the support of United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) under the theme ‘Role of African RCEs in Climate Action‘.

The meeting will bring together participants both globally, and those from the entire RCE Africa community to reflect on the actions undertaken by various RCEs in Africa in addressing climate change. It will be a forum for participants to share best practices and innovations in addressing change impacts.

The 3-day meeting will incorporate poster exhibitions, presentations and interactive sessions from participants. The interactive sessions will provide RCEs with a platform to discuss how to further strengthen and engage with Regional and National governments to focus RCE activities on climate change with a view to achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

For applying, it is required to:

  • Submit an RCE Project under the theme of ‘The Role of African RCEs in Climate Action’ through the RCE Portal
  • Submit the Financial Request Form to rceconference@unu.edu(link sends e-mail)
  • Registration will also be necessary but can be done after the announcement of the financial support

Exhibitions
[Deadline: Monday, 31 October 2022, 23:59 (JST)]

The exhibitions will be open on 28 and 29 November for meeting participants to view. Exhibitors will also present their best practices in a session scheduled for Day 2, Parallel Session 3-a of the Regional Meeting. Please share your best practices on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

For youth participants, please note that the presentation of the exhibitions will be conducted during the Parallel Session 3-b for youth. Please refer to the tentative programme.
