Guinea (Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry) Results of the 43rd session of the CCIs of CAMES 2021: Delivery of admission certificates to the 15 Teachers-Researchers of UGANC

The meeting room of the rectorate of the Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry was the setting for the ceremony of presentation of the Certificates of registration on the list of aptitude of the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES) of the 15 candidates of the Institution, on Saturday June 4, 2022.

This ceremony brought together the Rector, Dr Alpha Kabinet KEITA, the Vice-Rector in charge of research, Dr Mariama BEAVOGUI, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Techniques, Pr Mohamed CISSE, the Secretary General , Dr Oumou KOUROUMA, the 15 Teacher-Researchers promoted, including 12 to the rank of Assistant Professor, 1 to the rank of Lecturer and 2 to the rank of Full Professor.

During the meeting, Mr. Rector, Dr. Alpha Kabinet KEITA invited the Teacher-researchers to more rigors in order to raise Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry to the firmament among the best in the West African sub-region and to Africa by the quality of their participation in the development of our country Guinea and of Africa. He also congratulated and encouraged Dr Oumou Hawa BAH, wife CAMARA (Gynecology-Obstetrics), the only woman in the cohort out of the 3 admitted to Guinea (note: Dr Fatoumata BAH, wife BAH and Dr Nathalie Sia Doumbou TENKIANO, wife Oularé Faya, all from Julius Nyerere University of Kankan).

Indeed, in 2021, there were 2,277 candidates registered on the CAMES aptitude lists, there were 1,993 teacher-researchers and researchers admitted, i.e. a success rate of 87.53%.

The Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry (UGANC) presented 15 candidates who were all admitted, i.e. 100% success.

In the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technologies (FSTS), in the departments of Medicine, Pharmacy and Odontostomatology, there were 13 candidates with 11 candidates for the rank of Master-Assistant (LAFMA) and 2 candidates for the rank of Full Professor.

In the Faculty of Sciences, 2 candidates including one for the rank of Assistant Master (LAFMA) and one for the rank of Associate Lecturer (LAFMC).

It should be noted that during the 43rd session of the 2021 CCIs, 184 candidates were adjourned and 100 had their files deemed inadmissible.

Furthermore, of the 57 appeals registered during the 43rd session, 42 were accepted, 10 rejected and 5 were deemed inadmissible. As for the 7 applications for homologation, 3 were accepted, 2 rejected and 2 declared inadmissible.

It should be recalled that initially planned in Guinea, the session of the Inter-African Consultative Committees (ICC) of the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES), finally took place on September 14 and 15, 2021, by videoconference, in the presence of the Secretary General of CAMES, Pr Bertrand MBATCHI and the General Advisory Committee (CCG) chaired by Pr Maurice Aurélien SOSSO. During the meetings, the results of the 43rd session of the Inter-African Consultative Committees (ICC) were validated.
