Tunisia (Central University) Tunisia-Inauguration Of The “Honor Career Center”: Interview With Ms. Houbab Ajmi Director General Of The University Central-Honor Group

In order to facilitate the integration of young graduates into professional life, Honoris United Universities has set up Career Centers within its network. It should be recalled that Honoris United Universities is the first pan-African private higher education network of which the Université Centrale, AAC, UPSAT, IMSET, Honoris Medical Simulation Center and Honoris Collective Lab are members. .

Mrs. Houbeb Ajmi Director General of the Université Centrale-Honoris Group intervened to give us more details on this subject.

COULD YOU PRESENT US THE CAREER CENTER? WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?

The idea of the project actually complemented the Honoris Center group found in the other institutions. This is the continuity of an action plan that we had implemented for 2 years already. First of all, a department was created within the organization which will take care of young graduates and help them in their job search.

This department will be responsible for supervising and supporting students in order to help them better integrate into professional life.

WHAT SERVICES DOES THE CAREER CENTER OFFER TO STUDENTS?

For this project, we have identified the skills required by companies, essentially “soft skills”, these behavioral skills that cannot be learned at university but which are nevertheless fundamental to the success of professional life.

Certainly the diploma is a major asset but it is no longer a guarantee of employment, employers are now more interested in “soft skills”.

We found ourselves having to innovate other alternatives in order to prepare students for the demands of today’s job market.

This is the case of entrepreneurship, which is now one of the essential professional skills for success in the professional life of a young graduate. This allows students with innovative ideas to create their own businesses and launch their private initiatives.

It is in this perspective that our project fits. We have created this space to supervise, prepare and train young graduates about to enter the job market.

TELL US ABOUT THE CAREER CENTER PROGRAM? WILL THERE BE TRAINING, WORKSHOPS?

We have set up a rich and diversified program including workshops, training and courses made available to students on the virtual platforms of each of the institutions, Central University, UPSAT, IMSET and AAC in order to strengthen their self-confidence. and enhance their potential to help them succeed in their professional lives.

Honoris has indeed emphasized the importance of digitalization, especially in these times of a pandemic, and has proposed a program that will allow students, in addition to physical spaces, to boost their skills and to master several skills such as entrepreneurship. , creativity, collaborative work, critical thinking, problem solving all through a digital platform.

These services are offered to students throughout their academic career and even after graduation.

The purpose of creating this space is to help these graduates succeed in their lives even after graduation.

This is a real support structure that will help them overcome their limits and succeed in professional life.

ARE THERE ANY PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMPANIES OR START-UPS?

In reality, we have many partners who are already present today at this inauguration ceremony with whom we had discussed the skills on which we must focus in order to then manage to set up our program and make this project a success.

The partners will also be in charge of providing internships to our students and recruiting our future graduates.

Our partners are an integral part of this project. They will be in charge of training our young graduates by transmitting to them the skills as well as the keys to success essential to success in professional life by integrating a company or by creating their own companies. The skills to be acquired through the Career Center are essential for the student to adapt to changes in the market

To this end, the Carrer Center will rely on experts to support the student with an innovative project idea in transforming it into a project from the start of the study until its realization.
