Bahrain (British University of Bahrain) BUB Software Engineering and Cyber Security Students Attend Our First HackCamp

BUB held its first ever ‘HackCamp’ this week, with our Year 2 Software Engineering and UK Cyber Security students, working remotely in teams on live projects from actual clients.

HackCamp is a three week challenge, bringing students together to work in teams, developing software projects to meet a live company set brief.

Our students worked very closely with the clients, using their computer programming knowledge, web development skills and their understanding of App development technology, to deliver pragmatic solutions to a problem faced by their client in their current business environment. After a number of client meetings, our students received feedback on their ideas to refine and enhance their finished solution. The students did a fantastic job of problem formulation, requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing using the scrum agile method over an intensive (hackathon style) time period.

The final working software was then developed and presented to the clients in iterations and on the final showcase day, the teams gave the final presentation to their client. The BUB students demonstrated outstanding commitment during these difficult times and produced effective solutions to the exact requirements of their clients.

The Module Tutors were extremely proud and mentioned that they performed extremely well, in a real-life working situation.
