UAE (American University in Dubai) Launching the second version of the Resilience Officer Diploma Program, in collaboration between Dubai Police and AUD

Dubai Police and the American University in Dubai (AUD) are organizing the second version of the Resilience Officer Diploma Program, targeted at professionals working in various fields related to resilience in the public and private sectors, and civil society organizations. In its first version, 18 participants from various local institutions and departments in Dubai completed the program. This initiative is in-line with Dubai government’s efforts towards enhancing the resiliency and reducing risks at the Emirate level, especially after recognizing the city of Dubai as a “Role Model City in the Field of Resilience, Intelligence and Sustainability.”

The program is launched under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in support of the Emirate’s efforts at the global level in all fields, especially with regard to institutional resiliency, protection of people, property and various life systems.

The program will equip participants with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive as resilience champions in their organizations. In an uncertain environment that requires high levels of adaptability, flexibility, and resiliency in order to ensure business continuity and sustainability, the program provides participants with effective approaches to make sound plans for mitigating the impact of risks and managing crisis.

The list of topics includes: resilience applications and management, global frameworks for risk reduction, business continuity planning, crisis management, resilience and global priorities, and the interdependence of food, water and energy security. Upon completion, the participants are expected to present a graduation project aimed at developing a resilience strategy in a specific institution or sector.

The program will run for 8 days, October, from 17th to 20th, and from 24th to 27th, between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. Nomination of participants to join this program is done through the partner institutions of the Dubai Resilient Program.
