Nigeria (African University of Science and Technology) AUST partners BAU on a win-win academic exchange programmes

 

The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja and the Bahcesehir University, Besiktas Istanbul in Turkey have agreed to partner on Research, Innovation and Education.

The Acting President of AUST, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, disclosed this while receiving in audience, Professor Sedat Aybar of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Department of Economics, Bahcesehir University, Istanbul, Turkey in his office in Abuja recently.

He stated that the visit of Professor Aybar from Turkey was timely and in line with the university’s mission statement which is to produce high quality scientists and engineers that would pummel Science, Technology and Innovation in the next millennium not only in Africa but the world at large and promised the visiting Faculty from BAU, Turkey that AUST has its doors wide open for mutual collaboration between the two renowned institutions.

According to Professor Onwualu “ AUST was formed in 2007 but commenced full academic programme in June 2008, offering Masters and Doctoral Degrees in five science and engineering courses namely, Materials Science and Engineering, Pure and Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Computer Science and Petroleum and Energy Resourses Engineering.

He however stressed that the university in its expansionist moves, introduced Social Sciences and earlier in the year introduced undergraduate programmes in its curriculum, maintaining that AUST is ever willing to partner with universities and corporate organizations whose activities are in tandem with the university’s goals and aspirations.
