Kenya (Daystar University College) Daystar University churns out 1,123 graduands in 45th Graduation Ceremony

On Friday, 18th November 2022, Daystar University Chancellor, Dr. Florence Muindi awarded diplomas and conferred degrees, Masters and Doctorate degrees to 1,123 graduands from 16 nationalities.

The 45th Graduation Ceremony of Daystar University was held at Bethel Grounds, Main Campus Athi River in a grand ceremony presided over by President of the Court of Appeal in Kenya, the Hon. Justice Daniel Musinga.

The theme for this year’s graduation was “Up and Beyond to a World of Endless Possibilities.”

Present to witness the graduation were jubilant parents and guardians, Members of Daystar Company Board, Council Members, Senate and Management, members of the Diplomatic community, alumni, representatives of various universities and corporate companies, Faculty, staff and students.

The Guest of Honour, the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Daniel Musinga. encouraged the graduands to be salt and light in their respective careers.

“Whatever task you undertake may you perform in such a way that your client wills say that this individual is a product from Daystar University,” he said.

He also advised graduands to add soft skills such as communication, leadership, and emotional intelligence to their academic credentials, saying that the future lay squarely in their hands.

The University Chancellor, Dr. Florence Muindi urged the graduands not to settle for less, but instead raise their gaze and embrace the good plans that God has in place for them. She challenged graduands to roll up their sleeves and serve with conviction.

The University Council Chair, Prof. George Njoroge also encouraged the graduands to walk with confidence wherever they find themselves, and to use their God-given talents to improve the world.

On his part the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro advised the graduands to have enduring fortitude. Prof. Ayiro particularly congratulated the School of Law for graduating its pioneer class. Two Law students graduated with honours.

In his address, the Chairman of the graduation class, Mr. Israel Lugadiru reminisced over student experiences and appreciated his Alma Mater for providing more than just an education.

During the ceremony, three graduands were recognized for different achievements. Miss Hannah Awinja Maleche (Undergraduate) and Miss Nancy Nyambura Maina (Postgraduate), received the Vice-chancellor’s Award while the Chancellor’s Award went to John Willis Njoroge, a Master’s graduate in Counselling Psychology. The three prizes attracted cash awards

Four staff awards were also presented to Mr. Nathan Masambu (School of Communication), Pastor Rachael Ngugi (Chaplaincy), Mrs. Jane Wambua-Yobera (Library), and Urbanus Kioko (University Services) for their exemplary service to the University.
