UK (University of Greenwich) New Pro-Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean for University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich has appointed Professor Peter Griffiths as its new Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean (Engineering and Science).
Professor Griffiths has been filling the role on an interim basis for the last nine months from his substantive post as the Director of Greenwich Research & Enterprise.
Speaking about his appointment, Peter said: “I am excited and privileged to have the opportunity of collaborating with colleagues to deliver our new strategy, to drive positive outcomes for our learners, partners and society in general. The Faculty of Engineering and Science possesses a richness of talent not yet realised and I’m confident that in coming years we’ll further extend the footprint of our education and research.”
Professor Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Greenwich, added: “I’m delighted that Peter has been appointed to this key role within the university. He brings with him a wealth of experience, including his work on the creation of the Research and Enterprise Training Institute and development of the university’s apprenticeship agenda, together with a deep knowledge of the university, our students and our staff. I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with Peter and wish him all the very best for his new role.”
In addition to his role at the University, Professor Griffiths is also Chair of the Rideal Trust.
He is a Fellow and Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
