Ivory Coast (Université Pelefero Gon Coulibaly) INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF ACADEMIC PALMS OF CAMES Professor COULIBALY Adama made Knight of OIPA

The President of the University Peleforo GON COULIBALY, Professor COULIBALY Adama was decorated in the International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA), on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 21st Aggregation Competition in Human Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontostomatology, Medicine veterinary and animal production of CAMES which was held on November 16, 2022, in Abidjan (Republic of Côte d’Ivoire).

Recognizing their eminent services for the influence of Higher Education in Côte d’Ivoire and Africa, the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES), through its International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA) has decorated personalities Ivorian policies and those of the academic world. Among the lucky recipients, 08 in number, there is the President of the University Peleforo GON COULIBALY, Professor COULIBALY Adama whose commitment to quality and therefore competitive Ivorian and African Higher Education remains constant. It is his qualities as a good manager coupled with an eminent Teacher-Researcher recognized by the Ivorian authorities which are thus corroborated by CAMES through this distinction to the rank of Knight of OIPA. Professor of Cellular Biology and Microbiology, President COULIBALY Adama is also very active in the field of national and sub-regional organizations of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Recently, he was appointed by his peers to lead the destinies of the Network for Excellence in Higher Education in West Africa (REESAO); organization that brings together 7 countries and about forty universities in the WAEMU area. Among the recipients of Côte d’Ivoire in the OIPA we note the presence of Professor Adama DIAWARA, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President in office of the Council of Ministers of CAMES who has been elevated to the rank of Commander of OIPA/CAMES. It should be recalled that OIPA/CAMES, created in 2002 in Abidjan, was installed in April 2003 in Kigali (Rwanda). It was founded to show the recognition of the Institution to the actors who have contributed to its influence in particular and to the progress of African education and training systems in general. It is also an instrument of incentive to embark on this work of construction of Higher Education and Research. Several personalities, technicians from Higher Education and Research, have been decorated since its creation. To be admitted to the International Order of Academic Palms, you must: It is also an instrument of incentive to embark on this work of construction of Higher Education and Research. Several personalities, technicians from Higher Education and Research, have been decorated since its creation. To be admitted to the International Order of Academic Palms, you must: It is also an instrument of incentive to embark on this work of construction of Higher Education and Research. Several personalities, technicians from Higher Education and Research, have been decorated since its creation. To be admitted to the International Order of Academic Palms, you must:

  • have carried out for at least fifteen years activities, public or private, civil or military, having included, directly or indirectly, distinctive acts or services signaled for the promotion of Higher Education, Research or more generally of the Education and Training in Africa;
  • be at least thirty-five years old at the time of admission.

On behalf of the President of the Republic, Head of State, HE Mr. Alassane OUATTARA and the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Mr. Patrick Jérôme ACHI, Minister Adama DIAWARA paid a vibrant tribute and sent his warm congratulations to the recipients.
