Neya Kalu named one of the most powerful women in Nigerian journalism

Congratulations to our esteemed University of Buckingham alumna, Neya Kalu who was recently named one of the most powerful women in Nigerian journalism.

Women in Journalism Africa (WiJAfrica) named Kalu 20th in the list of the 25 Most Powerful Women Journalists in Nigeria.

WiJAfrica said: “The choice was made after a rigorous process, which looked at various aspects of the work of the selected women, with emphasis on “depth and breadth of coverage of the elections, journalistic integrity, innovation, and leadership qualities.”

Speaking on receiving award, Neya said: “Since graduating from the University of Buckingham, I have had the opportunity to work in various roles. My LLB in Law, and my Master’s degree in Financial Service Management equipped me to navigate the complexities of professional life, providing me with a solid foundation to build experience in the workplace.”

Neya has held numerous prestigious positions such as Manager of Slok Group and Human Resources Team Leader at Suntrust Bank, and now finds herself in the position of Chairman and Publisher of The Sun, Nigeria, providing strategic leadership and overseeing the publication’s operations.
