Finland (Sibelius Academy) Soiva kieli vocal music series: Famous and Forgotten

This concert will focus on the musical riches of Vienna and Paris around the turn of the twentieth century, pairing songs by composers like Mahler, Debussy and Zemlinsky with songs by women composers of the same period, whose songs have largely been overlooked.

We will present music by more established figures such as Cecile Chaminade and Lili Boulanger, and also shine a spotlight on ‘forgotten’ composers including Johanna Müller-Hermann and Augusta Holmès. This concert will feature students and staff in the departments of Vocal Arts and Piano.
