Shanghai Jiaotong University (China) “Save The Traditional Villages” Project Awarded Top Prize for Excellent Social Impact

The “Save the Traditional Villages” workshop led by Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Design’s Professor CAO Yongkang and Assistant Professor DU Qian from the Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Design was awarded an Excellent Social Practice Project Award. The distinction was announced in the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League’s 2022 summer student practice summary report.

This honor is rewarded for outstanding projects based on social practice and related activities in 2022 which demonstrate perfect implementation, distinctive features, and remarkable results and standardized operations.

The 2022 “Save The Traditional Village” workshop was successfully held from August 1st to 13th. Compared with previous years, the backgrounds of the members participating in this event were more diverse. The students were no longer limited to architecture-related majors, but were also from product design, marketing, public administration, tourism planning, and computer science backgrounds. Students worked collaboratively in four groups focusing on different content: publicity, restoration, cultural creation, and planning.
