Nigeria (Nile University of Nigeria) Nile University Marks 10th Convocation With 842 Graduates, Invests Shehu of Borno as Chancellor.

November 21, 2022— Nile University of Nigeria awarded degrees to 842 graduates in its 10th convocation ceremony. The ceremony marked the finale of graduation activities which began with a convocation lecture titled “Rebuilding & Repositioning the Crumbling Walls in Nigerian Universities: A Roadmap for Change,” delivered by Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole FNAMed, FWACS, FAS (Former Minister of Health and Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan).

During the ceremony, 421 undergraduates and another 421 postgraduate and Ph.D students across five faculties— Arts & Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering, Natural & Applied Sciences, and Law— who had completed their studies received their degree certificates from the Honoris-owned institution of higher learning.

The 2022 convocation ceremony featured the investiture of the 20th Shehu of Borno, Alh. (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, as the Chancellor of Nile University and had in attendance the leadership of the Honoris United Universities led by the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jonathan Louw, the wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari represented by her son, Yusuf Buhari, the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, Emirs and traditional rulers, Vice-Chancellors of other universities as well as the former Chief of Army Staff, Maj. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, among other dignitaries.

Welcoming all guests in his address, the Vice-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, Prof. Dilli Dogo, stated that “since its establishment in 2009, the Nile University of Nigeria has grown exponentially and its acquisition by the Honoris United Group of Universities, the first and largest Pan-African private higher education network in 2020,  has propelled massive improvements with investments in infrastructure and manpower development to meet the Education for Impact goal of the network.”

Among the high points of the graduation ceremony was the presentation of awards, cash prizes, and scholarships to the best graduating students ranging from exciting cash prizes from the corporate sponsors to 100% scholarships to pursue a postgraduate degree at Nile University.
