Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Mexico) Borregos Monterrey celebrate national title with its fans
TheBorregos Monterreyhad a championship celebration with their fans, in whichthey shared the trophy and thanked their support.
After theONEFA Major Leaguetitle obtained last Friday, November 25 againstAuténticos Tigres, yesterday they met in theJardín de las Carrerasto share this achievement with students and collaborators.
“This moment is more of gratitude for the Blue Storm, all those who were supporting the Borregos team, students, collaborators, community, family,” saidMario Adrián Flores, vice president of theMonterrey Region.
Mario Adrián Flores received a ball signed by players and coaches as a thank you for the support of his team.
The players and coaches thanked the fans, especially theTormenta Azul club, as well as different areas of theMonterrey campusthat have supported them, such asSecurity, Residences, Communication, Medical Department, Physical Plant, among others.
The fans took the opportunity to take pictures with the trophy, players and coaches.

This title has a special tinge because of the way it was given, winning a visit to Authentic Tigers in extra time, saidCarlos Altamirano, head coach ofBorregos Monterrey.
“We talked about it before the game, it’s one that we’re going to remember all our lives and I think that’s how it’s going to be. It was commented on social networks that it was the best final of all time, we are part of history kids, thank you very much, “he said.
David Garza Salazar, rector and presidentof Tec de Monterrey, said that the most remarkable thing was the way they won the championship, since they did not give up during the game.
“All that has been built over maybe many years ago was made a reality this weekend. It was achieved as part of the culmination of a great season.
“For me it was seeing how they were resilient, how they brought out the character, they were a team, they stayed together and they overcame adversity,” he said.
The fans andparents had a special role in the championship, said the captain ofBorregos Monterrey, Mauricio Martinez.
“We carry that in our hearts and we appreciate it a lot. Their motivation is something that fills us, they were always supporting us, decorating the lockers in the final game, “he said.
Both Martinez andEmilio Elizondo, quarterback andmost valuable player of the final, handed autographed balls to Mario Adrián and David Garza as a thank you.
T-shirts were also given to representatives of the different areas of the campus that supported the teamduring the season in different aspects, as well as the cheerleading group and other entertainment groups, as well asEXATECand parents.
The coaches and players endorsed the commitment to seek the championship for the following season, which will begin in the semester of August-December 2023.
