Universidad del Desarrollo is a private autonomous university in Chile , with campuses in Concepción and Santiago , specifically in the districts of Las Condes and Lo Barnechea . It was founded by a group of academics and politicians in 1990. It is currently accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile) for 6 years (out of a maximum of 7), from October 2021 to October 2027, being the first university Chilean private sector to receive such accreditation in all areas.
It appears in position 15 within the Chilean universities of the QS World University Rankings 2022 , it is also in the same position in the AméricaEconomía 2020 ranking. In addition, it is in eighth place in the Scimago Institutions Rankings 2021 ranking .
It currently has 93,273 m 2 built distributed in the Campus Rector Ernesto Silva Bafalluy, the Plaza de la Investigación (founded in 2017), Campus Las Condes (currently in the Campus Rector Ernesto Silva the new Faculty of Medicine is being built, for what the Las Condes Campus was sold) and the Ainavillo Campus in Concepción. As of 2021, there are more than 15,000 undergraduate students and another 1,555 postgraduate students, with an academic offer of 26 undergraduate courses, 22 master's programs and 4 doctorate programs.
