Lesotho (National University of Lesotho) NUL Marketing Team at CHE Fair

Multitudes of learners, teachers, parents, private sector and the public swarmed the NUL stall at the recent Council on Higher Education (CHE) Fair in Maseru from 2nd – 3rd March, 2023. The Fair, which attracted higher education institutions nationwide and from as far afield as South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, was held for high school learners, those who have completed high school and potential postgraduate students.

The Director of Communications and Marketing, Mrs. ‘Mamosa Moteetee led the NUL Marketing Team to academically market NUL in competition with other institutions at the expo by giving career guidance on the various academic and research programmes, community engagement activities, innovations and support services available at the University. It was the fourth consecutive year that CHE gave NUL the role of introducing the participating institutions and other functions during the official opening – the role which the NUL Marketing Officer, Mr. Thapelo Sephiri performed with utmost verve.

The NUL stall stole the show as the most visited stall during this Career Expo. It was also gratifying to hear participants who admired the NUL as the only resident university in Lesotho and known for creating champions! NUL Team was hailed as the best in sharing content and responding to students’ multiple enquiries. The Team also handed out information, educational and communication products including prospectuses, brochures, flyers to students, parents and other participants.

Another marketing tool was the picture frame which learners used to take their pictures. This alluring marketing tool allows individuals or small groups to take their pictures next to, posted their pictures on social media and tag NUL, thus drawing more traffic to the NUL social media platforms, the website and the actual NUL stall. This captivated the learners so much that in the end they nick-named it NUL TV!

The NUL Marketing Committee comprises of representatives from all the 7 faculties of the university, IEMS and administrative departments/units of the University such as the Academic Office, Admissions Office, the Library and Department of Student Affairs.
