Nigeria (Bells University of Technology) Digital Technology And Entrepreneurship-12th Annual College Lecture

The College of Management Sciences (COLMANS), Bells University of Technology, Ota, held its 12th Annual College Lecture on Wednesday, 18th May, 2022. The event was held at the Ultra-modern BUPF International Conference Centre inside the University campus.

The Lecture was titled “Digital Technology and Entrepreneurship: A panacea for economic development in Nigeria” and delivered by an erudite scholar and entrepreneurial coach, Prof. Isaac Oluwajoba Abereijo, the Director, Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. The Special Guest of Honour, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, First Lady of Lagos State was ably represented by the Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.

The Dean, College of Management Sciences, Prof. Chris Ajila welcomed all guests to the lecture. He assured the audience of a robust intellectual discourse, noting the pedigree of the Guest Lecturer. The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Host, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran RE (COREN) MNSE, also welcomed and appreciated the Guest Lecturer for honouring the University with his presence. In his words, “I strongly believe that our gathering today will avail us the opportunity to drink from the wealth of experience of our dear Guest Lecturer, especially on the much desired link between Digital Technology, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.”

The Guest Lecturer, Prof. Abereijo held the audience spell bound as he took them on a learning journey, connecting the dots among the key variables of the discourse; entrepreneurship, digital technology and economic development.

Also in attendance were other members of the University Management including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Cheo, the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa, the Bursar, Mr. Sina Adepoju and the University Librarian, Dr. Felicia Yusuf. Other Deans, Directors, HoDs, staff, students, invited guests from other universities, secondary schools, industries and the media were also in attendance.
