Nigeria (Ajayi Crowther University) ACU VC Pays Condolence Visit To The Olumakaiyes
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Professor Timothy Abiodun Adebayo, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, led some Principal Officers and staff of the University to pay a condolence visit to the family of late Archbishop Humphrey Olumakaiye in Lagos. The archbishop passed away on October 30, 2022.
The delegation was received by the late Archbishop’s widow, Professor Mrs. Moruntayo Funke Olumakaiye, at their Church House residence at Marina, Lagos. The Vice-Chancellor expressed the University’s condolences to the family while Mrs. Olumakaiye expressed gratitude to the University for the visit. The Vice-Chancellor expressed regret that rather than a visit to invite the Archbishop to the University’s forthcoming convocation, it turned out to be a condolence visit. He noted that the late Archbishop of Lagos Province and Bishop of Lagos, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), was a member of the Governing Council of the University. He prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The University Chaplain, Venerable Lekan Onanuga, who was on the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage, prayed for the family. Other people accompanied the Vice-Chancellor on the visit include Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Professor Muyiwa Popoola, Registrar, Dr. J.E.T. Babatola, Public Relations Officer, Rev. Canon Alvan Ewuzie, Subdean Student Affairs, Dr. Cornelius Ojo and Council Affairs Officer, Mrs. Adediwura Adeniyi.
