Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University was originally established in 2007 in order to transfer a branch of King Saud University to the University of Al-Kharj. In 2015 the university was renamed Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz.
The university is located in Al-Kharj, a city in central Saudi Arabia.
The university is organised into four different types of academic colleges: scientific colleges, health colleges, humanities colleges, and community colleges. The scientific colleges include the college of business administration and the college of engineering, while the health colleges include the college of pharmacy and the college of dentistry. Each college offers a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
Throughout the year the university carries out research in a range areas and publishes its findings in two scientific journals: the Journal of Educational Sciences and the Journal of Sharia and Arabic Sciences.
Every year the university hosts the International Conference on Advanced Materials and their Applications. This conference is led by experts in the fields of nanotechnology, polymeric materials, materials for renewable and sustainable energy, and catalysts in the petrochemical industry.
The Administration of International Cooperation and Scientific Societies is responsible for developing partnerships between the university and other higher education institutions across the globe. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges.
