Overview

The University of Otago, located in Dunedin, the capital of Otago Province, South Island, New Zealand, was founded in 1869. It is the first university in New Zealand and the world's top university. It is also the only comprehensive university in New Zealand that can provide majors in consumer and applied science, dentistry, human nutrition, pharmacy, sports, physiotherapy and measurement. The school is a member of the Commonwealth University Association. [13]
The university has four colleges of business, Health Sciences, humanities and science, with more than 21700 students studying here, including more than 2800 international students from more than 90 countries / regions. The university has a wide range of research topics, and its academic strengths include Bioscience, psychology, anthropology, history and art history. Among them, the medical school of Otago University has strong scientific research ability and is famous at home and abroad. The University ranks 176th in the 2020qs World University Ranking and 194th in the 2022qs world university ranking.
