Biography
Dr. Latifa Dhaouadi is a senior expert with over 27 years of experience in water harvesting, irrigation management, and sustainable rural development. Her work focuses on the design and implementation of climate-resilient water harvesting systems, smart irrigation technologies, and the analysis of soil–water–crop interactions to improve agricultural productivity in arid and semi-arid regions.
She is proficient in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, water quality assessment, and the monitoring and evaluation of irrigation systems, including the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that promote efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. Dr. Dhaouadi’s research and field projects directly support several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
Through collaborative efforts with local communities, international institutions, and research centers, she contributes to empowering rural populations, enhancing food and water security, and promoting environmentally responsible agricultural practices.
