Biography
Dr. Eltahir is a researcher at the Institute of Gum Arabic Research and Desertification Studies, University of Kordofan, Sudan. He was awarded the degree of M.Sc. in Forestry from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, in 2009. Then, he studied M.Sc. in Tropical Forestry and Management at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, from 2009 to 2011. In 2017, he was awarded a PhD in silviculture from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. He is involved in lecturing, research, training, and serving on various scientific committees. Dr Eltahir is an Agroforestry and gum Arabic specialist, having worked with IFAD and FAO from 2020 to 2025. Dr. Eltahir has published 60 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a chapter and a book, to date. Besides his regular duties, Dr. Eltahir also teaches in other colleges and trains in specialised training centres in El Obied.
