Biography
Professor Hassan, born in 1944 in Abu Usher, Gezira State, Sudan, is a distinguished figure in the field of forestry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK and earned both his Master of Science and Philosophy Doctorate degrees in Forest Protection from the University of Khartoum. His extensive career encompasses over four decades of experience in diverse aspects of the Forestry Sector.
Prof. Hassan's professional journey includes significant contributions to the of fields of Forestry, Agriculture, The Environment & Renewable Natural Resources at large in Sudan, Africa and The Near East. He served as a Lecturer, Examiner and Assessor in Institutes of Higher Education & Research, Practitioner Forester, Director General of the Forests National Corporation” Sudan’s Forests Service”, State Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture & Forests, Senior Forestry Officer in the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) based in the Organization’s Near East Office in Cairo, General Manager of Sudan’s Gum Arabic Company, Director, Research Chair on Gum Arabic, Consultant to National, Regional & International Organizations such as Various Ministries, Institutes & State Governments in Republic of the Sudan, FAO, UNDP, UNEP, World Bank, Cofounder & Managing Director of Consultancy House “Hassan & Tag Consultants®”.
