Renmin University of China (China)

Renmin University of China is the first new regular university founded by the Communist Party of China. It is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university focusing on Humanities and social sciences. It is directly under the Ministry of education and jointly built by the Ministry of education and Beijing. The predecessor of the school was Northern Shaanxi public school born in 1937 in the flames of the war, and later North China United University, Northern University and North China University. On December 16, 1949, the 11th Government Council of the Central People's government adopted the decision on the establishment of the people's University of China on the recommendation of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. On October 3, 1950, Renmin University of China, which was merged and established based on North China University, held a grand opening ceremony and became the first new regular university founded in New China. Famous educators Wu Yuzhang, Cheng Fangwu, Yuan Baohua, Huang Da, Li Wenhai, Ji Baocheng and Chen Yulu successively served as principals. The current party secretary is Zhang Donggang and the president is Liu Wei.
