Biography

Dr. Maha is an Associate Professor and Head of the Natural Resources and Biodiversity Department/Environment and Natural Recourses and Desertification Research Institute/National Center for Research/ Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/ Sudan.

Dr. Maha is interested in biodiversity documentation, conservation and sustainable use research. She is a principal investigator   of national research projects in Sudan biodiversity monitoring and documentations. She is an expert group member to examine the draft short-term action plan to enhance and support capacity-building for the implementation of the biodiversity Strategic Plan.

Dr. Maha is an editorial board member of Environment and natural resources international journal and scientific reports of the Environment and Natural Resources and Desertification Research Institute/National Center for Research/ Sudan. and Sudan journal of agricultural research, Agricultural Research Corporation, Sudan. She is a reviewer of peer-reviewed journals. She  attended  national and international training courses, conferences and symposia

Academically, Dr. Maha is  a visiting Professor in various Sudanese universities, and supervisor and examiner of postgraduate students. She is  member Senate of Sudan Academy of science. She  published over 20 research papers, 2 books and one book chapter.
