Biography
Faisal Koua, a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Virginia, received his PhD in Bio-science with specialization in structural biology & molecular biophysics from Okayama University, Japan in 2013. He then worked as a specially-appointed assistant professor in Osaka City University in Osaka, and Postdoctoral research associate at the OptoBioTechnology Research Center of Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan before joining the University of Virginia as professional research staff. Faisal is interested in the structural and dynamics of light-sensitive membrane proteins including but not limited to photosystem I & II, microbial rhodopsins and phytochromes.
