Prof. Afrozul Haq (Hamdard University) India

Professor Afrozul Haq is working as the Dean and Head of the Department of Food Technology, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Before joining Hamdard University Prof. Haq was working as the Director of Research & Development at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital (GDCH), Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is the pioneer of Vitamin D research and testing in the UAE and serving as the Founding President and Chairman of International Conference on Vitamin D Deficiency, Nutrition and Human Health continuously for the last 7 years. Prof. Haq is a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, India and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), Paris, France. He started his professional career from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1984. Prof. Haq has more than 30 years of experience as a basic & clinical research scientist working in a number of research labs, and hospitals around the world including Pasteur Institute, Paris, France; McGill University, Montreal, Canada; King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mafraq Hospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, VPS Healthcare, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He was a Professor at Dubai Medical College for Girls, Dubai. He served as the head of Biochemical Diseases Investigation Laboratory from 2001 to 2006 at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2006, Prof. Haq developed and modified successfully high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique for the measurement of Vitamin D3 and Vitamin D2. Prof. Haq has published over 145 research articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed International Journals and conferences. Working on several research projects on vitamin D in collaboration with clinicians and researchers at SKMC, Zayed University, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi and Harvard Medical School, USA. Prof. Haq is serving as the Managing Guest Editor for the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Elsevier: impact factor 4.6) for the last 3 years. Editor in Chief, Editor, Editorial Board member and advisor for several international journals in the field of medical research and health sciences.
