Jinan University is a comprehensive University jointly built by the people's Government of Shandong Province and the Ministry of education, a key construction University of Shandong Province and a "first-class" Construction University of high-level universities in Shandong Province. It has the right to grant bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The school was founded in 1948. Over the past 70 years, the school has kept in mind the motto of "perseverance, erudition, truth-seeking and goodness", inherited the school spirit of "diligence, preciseness, unity and innovation", carried forward the spirit of "hard work, cohesion and pursuit of excellence", and trained a large number of outstanding talents for national construction and economic and social development, with nearly 350000 alumni at home and abroad. The university now has 23 colleges, including 3 post doctoral research mobile stations, 4 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 18 second-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 21 first-class discipline master's degree authorization points, 125 second-class discipline master's degree authorization points and 18 master's professional degree training categories. The university recruits about 80 undergraduate majors every year, covering 10 disciplines such as economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management and art. More than 38000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students.
