Biography
James is the Head of Digital Education and the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) at King’s College London. CTEL has a cross-college focus on innovative, sustainable and scalable technology to support the student and staff pedagogic experience. The focus is on fostering TEL capability and capacity through the ‘building the bridges’ between technology and education. CTEL is also spearheading the multimillion pound King’s Technology Enhanced Learning strategy and transformation programme. On a personal level, James has over ten years professional experience in e-learning and education and has led, created, supported, consulted, managed and developed various e-learning strategies and initiatives during this time. He has experience in both in the private and Higher Education sector, which has involved UK wide and overseas delivery (Europe, the Middle East, India and East Asia), liaising with diverse suppliers and partners, delivering a range of educational products. James holds an MA in Academic Practice (Technology Enabled) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), which provides the appreciation of the pedagogic issues in digital education and complements his practical teaching experience. James also has qualifications in project management (Prince2 and Managing Successful Programmes at Practitioner Level) to complement his BA (Hons) degree in Computing and Information Systems where he specialised in usability and human-computer interaction.
