Cairo Medical Symposium to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer and the Importance of Early Detection and Means of Prevention and Treatment to Reduce its Spread within the Society.

Cairo University puts all its scientific and human potential to support the state’s development efforts and women’s health is an essential part of the safety and stabilityof society.

The Faculty of Medicine of Kasr El-Aini at Cairo University, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, President of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Manal Al-Masri, Dean of the College, organized a seminar to raise awareness of breast cancer in cooperation with the Women’s Imaging Unit at Qasr Al-Aini Hospital, and the seminar was attended by a group of faculty members of the College, doctors, nursing staff, students, and staff, in the conference hall of the College.

The seminar aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer and providing all information related to this disease to the largest number of faculty members, students and workers and training them to conduct self-examination, in the belief of Cairo University that the health of every Egyptian woman is an essential part of the safety and stability of society.

The seminar included the presentation of several lectures to raise awareness of breast cancer, its early detection and methods of prevention, and the role played by the Women’s Health Unit in the Department of Radiology at the College in diagnosing women’s diseases, and examinations were conducted immediately after the end of the seminar, and the Faculty of Medicine was illuminated in pink to coincide with the month of breast cancer awareness.

It is worth mentioning that Cairo University is intensifying its efforts to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer and the means of prevention and treatment of it free of charge to reduce its spread within the university community, and provides the necessary support to raise awareness about it, and urge the necessary examinations and treatment early, as breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among women around the world and early detection contributes to the rapid rise in cure rates.
